About SilverSpiral Creations

Silverspiral Creations began as a home studio in 2008 by jewelry designer Lynne Patnode. The home studio had humble beginnings, with Lynne creating each piece of jewelry one design at a time, with the goal of making each piece unique, using nature’s most beautiful stones. Her designs feature casual jewelry, organic usually centering around themes of nature and featuring exotic stones. “Each stone would guide me in what the design should be, and I went with it,” she states, and each piece becomes nature’s work of art. Over the years, the business grew, and her designs were sought after at shows, online at Etsy and on her own website. In June of 2019, Silverspiral Creations moved to a large studio at Whiting Mills in Winsted Connecticut, becoming a part of a well-established network of artisan studios and retail businesses. Silverspiral Creations has a shop here on this website and still sells on Etsy.

Lynne also provides custom jewelry services. She is often approached by customers wanting a cherished stone set into their own unique setting. Anyone can submit a Custom order request anytime!

Lynne also offers Metalsmith Classes and Workshops at Whiting Mills for beginners through advanced levels.  For information regarding class offerings, visit her website https://silverspiralcreations.com/classes.

How we Create

Each piece of jewelry is created one at a time. I use techniques such as sawing forming, soldering, pressing, grinding, hammering, and texturing. Each piece originates with a piece of sheet metal, ends with a dimensional piece of jewelry.

Custom Jewelry– SilverSpiral Creations will also create custom jewelry for you!

Lynne Patnode

I have had a full and busy life.  Over the years I have been involved in many careers: teacher, executive director, professor, music therapist. I have a Doctorate Degree in Education. With all of this, and my beautiful family of 4 daughters, a husband and numerous pets. But I still felt like I was missing something.

One day, I was in a big box store, and I saw some gorgeous stone beads.  They were agate, and I loved them, so despite never having made jewelry, I bought them.  I thought it would be easy–right?  Well, I found out it was more involved than I thought, so I did a little research and began building my skills. Then one day, I got a phone call from a friend I had met (she was a jewelry vendor at a conference I helped organize). – she was going out of the jewelry business!  She remembered that I had a passion for jewelry making and she offered to give me all of her supplies!) It was then that my business was launched!
